  5. 2nd Annual Lawrenceville Invitational

  6. COMMITMENT

  7. TENNIS SEASON • January – April • Region & State Tourney are held after Spring Break • Matches: • Singles (1, 2, 3) • Doubles (1, 2) • Seven starters for each match • Additional exhibition matches

  8. TENNIS SEASON • Practice • Early (2:30 – 4:00) • Late (4:00 – 5:30) • Expectations: • Be on time • Be prepared (clothes, shoes, racket, water) • Work hard • Teamwork/sportsmanship

  9. $COST$ MANDATORY Top Bottom + T-shirt $75.00 + 25.00 DUES $100.00 UNIFORMS

  10. $COST$ OPTIONAL Warm Up: Jacket + Pants $100.00 UNIFORMS

  13. Must be turned in BEFORE Winter Break • You cannot tryout without an approved physical • Use the information link under Athletics at centralgwinnett.net Physicals

  14. HARD WORK

  15. January 14th – 17th • Monday/Tuesday: Conditioning, Footwork, Agility • Wednesday/Thursday: Drills, Serves, Rules, Singles/Doubles • Friday, January 18th – First day of practice Tryouts

  16. Comfortable shoes & socks(preferably tennis shoes) • Tennis racket • Layers • Water • Positive Attitude What do I bring to Tryouts?

  17. What can I do to prepare for tryouts? • Find a partner and PLAY, PLAY, PLAY! • Practice hitting from all areas of the court • Search youtube to videos on form & rules of the game

  18. Good all-around players • Good forehand/backhand • Good footwork • Consistency • Good form • Hard work • Good sportsmanship & positive attitude • Desire to improve What are we looking for?

  19. Turn in candy to room 607 • Sign up to volunteer at the Safe Trick-or-treat before you leave • Get a physical turned in BEFORE Winter break
