  1. Pitched Percussion Unit Get excited to play our xylophones, Glockenspiels and metallophones!

  2. Knowing our instrument names • 1. Xylophones have wooden bars. • Metallophones have metal bars. • Glockenspiels have metal bars, and their bars are more shiny.

  3. Mallets (Sticks) are used to play them

  4. Stick Rules • When I say “Sticks up” • Immediately get your sticks and be in “ready position” • When I say “Sticks Down” • Immediately place your sticks on the floor beside you

  5. Let’s Get Warmed Up • Play 5Gs, 4Gs, 3Gs, 3Gs, 1G, no Gs! • Try rolling on one note • Take a minute to make up a short rhythmic pattern on your own! • Take one minute to softly “free play” and explore your instrument • Copy Me! • Let’s play softly • Let’s only play “G”s

  6. Now let’s move on and learn some more!
