  2. Link to Channel 4 website where the audience can watch the Great British Bake Off. Banner shows cakes, biscuits etc. Allows audience to know what the show is about. Also, shows logo and programme name. Tabs/navigation bar allows audience to find out more that what is displayed on the home page. ‘Contact us’ also, allows audience to message the programme and get involved. Shows images and links to other pages within the website and there are multiple images to click on. Shows exact bakes from this week’s show with an image of the baker and links to how to make them. The ‘Difficulty’ level allows the audience to see if they can do this and creates active watching. Links to more recipes to encourage and help the audience to participate in baking and try out what they’ve seen while watching the show.

  3. OTHER PAGES The ‘About’ tab gives a description and an insight into the show and what it is about. As you scroll down, you are introduced to the judges and the presenters of the competition and you can read about them, who they are and what they have done previously to the Bake Off. This allows for active viewing as the audience is not only learning just about what is shown directly in the programme but about how it is run and about the presenters. The ‘Your Bakes’ tab displays bakes made by watchers of the show. This allows for audience participation and encourages watchers to be active and have their bakes shown on the website. This creates active viewing as the audience is able to join in with the Bake Off and encourages them to learn or develop a skill – in this case, baking.
