Very first conclusions • Period with no PIRATA shows an immediate impact on forecast, especially between 100-400m • Impact of Salinity assimilation is important • On year run: suggests a relative seasonal impact • NEXT: - (try to) define a strategy for future moorings or additional sensors on the actual PIRATA network - what is the relative impact of PIRATA compared to drifting ARGO floats in the tropical domain.

(IFM-Kiel + NOAA/AOML-Miami) CHICO (Physique et CHImie COtière en Guyane) (IRD -ELISA- et CNRS) CORIOLIS / ARGO (IFREMER, CNRS, CNES, IRD, MF, SHOM, IPEV)

  13. 3 CHICO moorings 3 acoustic sources (IFM) 2 currentmeters moorings • => 12 « mooring » operations • + • 15 CTD (S, O2 and nutrients samplings) Pirata sites & 10°W • sea surface water samplings (every degree) for S, nutrients • sea surface water samplings in the GG for CO2, C13 & O18 • - deployment of 12 SVP buoys • - deployment of 115 XBT • - TSgraph, ADCP, nav & meteo • - Real time transmission of XBT and CTD profiles (Coriolis)
