  2. We must do better.

  3. Data and Information are the Key

  4. Data is everywhere and growing at an exponential rate. • Data is accumulating at a faster rate than at any time in history thanks in no small part to the technology intensity of the new economy, but also the internet, new sensor technologies, and mobile devices and smartphones. • They say that we have generated more in the last 3 years than in the entirety of humanity’s prior existence

  5. Data isn’t about the past, it’s about how we make better decisions in the future. • Data is quite simply the encoded history of very nearly all has happened before. • The promise of data isn’t about understanding the past though, it’s about the future and how we can influence it. • It is powering the way we make decisions, discover insights, and optimize performance. • It is had massive impact on whole sectors and industries from banking to agriculture.

  6. And in the world of data, health data just might be the biggest opportunity of all.

  7. What could we do with real insight? • What if we could answer these questions? • Which patients require interventions right now? • What environmental and social factors correlate to more efficient disease management? • How do we improve medication adherence? • What if we could integrate better data and information into key areas in medicine? • Decisions at the Point of Care, Patient Monitoring • Better Interventions, Clinical Trial Design • Physician/Hospital Selection • Vast stores of data now available: • Claims, Cost, Clinical, Research, Vital Statistics, Environmental, Behavioral
