Purposes of our Work • Connect people of the St. Louis region to foreclosure prevention resources through a network of trusted community partners mobilized by public media • Raise awareness about the impact of the mortgage crisis on the entire community • Deepen the significance of public media

  2. Impact Our work has demonstrated what can happen when social networks are revived, when trusted partners come together for the welfare of the community, and what strengths we can gain through our collective power when we work together.

  3. Impact • A 400% increase in the calls to the 211 • service during the assessment period • An additional 8,200 individuals sought • assistance through 211—people who • would have unlikely been aware of this • support otherwise.

  4. Fostered Beliefs • Increased awareness about community problems • Fostered deeper understanding of scope of problem • Created appreciation of station efforts

  9. Impact KETC was the catalytic center of a community engagement initiative that produced dramatic and statistically significant results. Our work has demonstrated that KETC is making a significant impact in the region; and that public media is a value worth supporting.
