  4. Role & Functions • Review and evaluate state radiation policies and programs • Make recommendations and furnish technical advice to state agencies • Review proposed rules and guides of any state agency

Advisory on Whole Body CT Self-Referrals TCEQ LLW Facility License Review Security of Radioactive Materials Uranium Mining Byproduct Material Compensation, Recruitment and Retention of Health Physicists Oil Field NORM Drinking Water NORM Rules proposed by agencies Principal TRAB Issues:2001 to Present

  6. Duties of Agencies • A state agency shall: • Consider the recommendations and advice of the advisory board; • Provide the advisory board a written response to the recommendations or advice

  7. Officers and Meetings • Advisory board elects from its members a chair, vice-chair and secretary • Board meets quarterly • Board may hold special meetings called by the advisory board chairman or by five advisory board members

  8. TRAB Meetings • Open Meetings - Meetings held in public with notice posted in Texas Register; held in Austin at the Moreton Building, 1100 W. 49th St. • Meetings provide time for public to comment
