  4. NATIONAL TECHNICAL WORKSHOP- (STEP 3)“Training Module” • Primary Objective • To develop a national technical workshop targeted at Federal and State Dept. of Transportation specialists involved in design, construction and specification development for transportation facilities.

  5. NATIONAL TECHNICAL WORKSHOP- (STEP 3)“Training Module” • Other Objectives • Introduce micropile technology • Present site investigation, load testing and QA/QC recommendations • Present comprehensive design methods • Provide example plans and guideline specifications

  6. NATIONAL TECHNICAL WORKSHOP- (STEP 3)“Training Module” • Important Statistics • Contractor is ADSC – “The Industry” • 15 month contract to complete module • 2- Day Training Course • 75 training courses anticipated to be taught throughout USA over next 3 - 4 years

USA MICROPILE PRACTICE“Where We Are Today” • No AASHTO Approval • 2001 AASHTO LRFD Highway Bridge Construction Specifications • Public Agencies gaining knowledge with increased use • Specialty Contractors still leading the charge in the development and specification of micropile applications • FHWA/Industry increasing micropile focus through ADSC/DFI
