  4. THE EVANGELIZING CHURCH Definition of Evangelism: ELCA EVANGELISM STRATEGY • Centered in Word and Sacrament and committed to serving others, evangelism is proclaiming the Good News of Christ crucified and risen, inviting people to faith in God, and welcoming all into the Christian church.
