  2. Course Themes • Culture and history of the Caribbean. • Sustainable development – fisheries. • Tourism and its likely impacts. • Peripheral countries in the world system (how places like TCI are tied into the globalizing world). • Doing ethnography in a small community.

  3. Student Field Projects • Fieldwork exercises in Cockburn Harbour. • Followed by research on a topic such as: • Tourism development. • Description of schools, clinic, churches. • Life-histories of elders. • Folklife: folk cures, stories, songs, cuisine. • Island history.

Total = ca. $1,650 (without tuition) Approximate Costs (Fees may change slightly)
