SENV-7700 Introduction • The area of solar building in China increases dramatically after the reform and opening-up policy and economic development..It is helpful for the national economy which maintains a sustainable, rapid and healthy development if we seize the opportunity to promoting building energy efficiency. The solar building has a good prospects and brilliant future which can help our country to realize the national development of the second step and the third step in the strategic target, and guide our country construction and architectural technology along with the world’s trend.   3. SENV-7700 Passive solar power • In passive solar building design, windows, walls, and floors are made to collect, store, and distribute solar energy in the form of heat in the winter and reject solar heat in the summer. • Elements of passive solar design, shown in a direct gain application

SENV-7700 Active solar power • Active solar power is any solar power device that incorporates a mechanical device for it to operate.In solar building, it means the whole or part of the application use new technology ,like solar photovoltaic and solar thermal technology for the building to provide energy.

  5. SENV-7700 Reviews of research situation at home and abroad • The United States pays a great attention to the development and utilization of solar energy. It takes effective measures to invest a lot of money on the research of solar energy utilization and the congress of United States made preferential policy that reduce tax for buyers of solar system. United States is a leading position in the world, and forms a complete solar building industrialization system in the domestic . • The research on active solar building in Japan makes a great example on the world. According to the “sunshine project” which formulated in 1974,Japan built a number of typical solar energy heating and air conditioning experimental building . Such as the Yazaki Experimental Building. • In China, many scholars also do much research on solar power which is one of the renweable energies .Like zhao Suli has done much research on Green energy resources reasonable use and the development and application of Solar Energy in Green Building Design done by Qin Yongli and so on .Since the 1980 s to the 90 s nearly 20 years , our country experienced with economic development as the center of gravity of rapid construction period.

SENV-7700 Solar photovoltaic panels • The combination of photovoltaic and architecture has the following two ways.One is BAPV(Building attached photovoltaics )The other one is BIPV(Building integrated photovoltaics) .For instance,integrating solar photovoltaic cells,glass curtain wall, window glass and roof tiles, so that it can not only develop and apply the new energy, but also decorate landscaping.

SENV-7700 Solar wall • The heat slowly passes through the massive wall, and arrives at the inside surface of the wall several hours later to provide heat in the evening.  The glazed covering on the outside of the wall reduces heat loss, and allows more heat transfer to the inside space. The vents shown at the top and bottom of the wall in this diagram are optional -- they allow heat to be transferred to the living space earlier in the day than occurs with an unvented solar wall.

SENV-7700 Solar heating and solar water heater • The principle of solar water heater in the building is to set solar heated apparatus on the top layer, using the water pump, water tank, auxiliary to supply hot water .The figure shown above is a flow chart show the theory of solar water heater system.

SENV-7700 Discussion • The prospect of solar heater • Problem • a,Thecost of the solar heater is high. b,We need some improvements on the techniques about attemperation, ventilation, electricity generation suggestion 1,China should take measures to reduce the cost. For example,the government should make preferential policies like reducing taxes. 2,The government should invest more money on research and development of solar heater. 3, we need to expand the scope of the popularity of solar energy, improving the level of utilization and discover new application field.

SENV-7700 BIPV • According to the advantages of BIPV(architectural aesthetics,architecturallighting,safetyperformance,green) ,the future building put emphasis on solar photovoltaic • So we should try our best to innovate and improve the technology of BIPV continuously.such as the integration of photovoltaic blinds,increasing the light transmittance of the photovoltaic materials whose transmittance want to reach 70% (50% at present),developing the automatic cleaning technology that can reduce the influence of photovoltaic battery conversion efficiency from dust on surface of PV module.

  14. SENV-7700 Policy obstacles • However, the Chinese government strongly supports solar energy application in buildings, the obvious policy obstacles for solar energy popularization are in existence. • Like the shortage of national economic incentive mechanisms.

  15. SENV-7700 conclusion • Building energy consumption in China has accounted for about 45% of the final energy of the society. If the building can reduce energy consumption by 50% during the process of using, then it can make a contribution that can reduce 14% of the final energy of the whole society. • So solar energy combination building is an inevitable trend in the future of China. It is also an important developmental direction in the world .
