Dr. Richard: Have you had penicillin before? Mrs. Komata: Yes, once a long time ago.

In the meantime, please stop the penicillin and I will give you an alternative antibiotic. You have a review (follow-up) appointment next week don’t you? Mrs. Komata : Yes, I do. Dr. Richard: I will see you then and decide if we need to refer you to the oral surgeon to have your wisdom tooth removed. If you have an infection that requires antibiotics then that is an indication to have the tooth removed.

The flat part of the tooth faces to the front of her mouth. Push the tooth in as quickly as you can then ask her to bite gently on something soft like a piece of cotton. Dr. Sato : Then bring her straight to the surgery (British dental clinical) and I shall have a look at her when she is here. I’ll splint the tooth for a few days just to keep it in position while hopefully a new periodontal membrane will grow.
