LDAP monitoring status. 20 th June 2002 Paul Mealor. GridFTP monitoring. Problems ( excuses) More than I thought. Datestamps were ambiguous (as I reported) Even when that was corrected, the Start date was completely incorrect (to the extent of giving negative times-elapsed).

  1. LDAP monitoring status 20th June 2002 Paul Mealor

  2. GridFTP monitoring • Problems (excuses) • More than I thought. • Datestamps were ambiguous (as I reported) • Even when that was corrected, the Start date was completely incorrect (to the extent of giving negative times-elapsed). • Hideous bug bought on by a case of misused pointers • Both these problems are fixed, but not for TB1.3, AFAIK • Nothing, probably, in TB1.3 :-/

  3. Network Element/Site name • The attribute in the LDAP is NE…but it is approximately analogous with site • Given by site domain name • ucl.ac.uk • rl.ac.uk • cnaf.in2p3.fr • If you are looking for a site, search for the sourceNE or destNE • Source and dest NE are configured statically. Look at http://datagrid.in2p3.fr/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/network/netmon/etc/, and click on the number to the right of wp7-hostnameToNE to check if you’re there

  4. Status in TB1.3 • Network monitoring information provider • Version 1.0.4 • Built with autotools thanks to Franck • Directory structure is dependant on WP3 edg-info-main • Will be changed when they EDGify theirs • Distributed as part of a CE and automatically configured by LCFG

  5. Status for TB1.3 • LCFG configuration • If a flag in LCFG site config is set, netmon-info-provider will be configured • NE name automatically set as site domain name • Network monitor machine is automatically picked up • As LCFG stands, there can only be one CE and one SE at a site • The CE can be configured to be a GIIS, as well

  6. Distribution now • Installed at RAL, Lyon • CNAF… problems • Others?? • Network Information Index • Good news! The MDS hierarchy was disabled by a bug which has been found and fixed • Another pointer bug, apparently
