  2. What is it, Why Use it, and How • What: Video that is compressed and sent “just in time” to the end user to watch • Why: Public Relations, Instruction, News • How: Using a digital video camera, workstation, video editing software, and a web server.

  3. How to View It? • Several different output mediums are available: • Windows Media Player (beta 9 out) • Real One Player • Apple QuickTime • Several different speeds to produce for: • Network LAN / DSL • 56k modem • 500k is near VHS quality

  4. Examples: • Simple PR Video • Example with No Talking

  5. Equipment: • Video Camera: Digital with Firewire, or Digital recording to DVD • Video Editing Software: Adobe Premier or MGI VideoWave, or others … • Workstation to Edit Video: P4 with lots of memory, hard disk, firewire and premium audio • Team work, Imagination, and Sense of humor come in handy!

  6. Production 101 • Tips • Begin with the End in Mind • Have a Prepared Script (minimum ad libing) • Shot Sheet • Keep Pacing in Mind (shorter/multiple scenes)
