Our Purpose • To promote and advance the improvement of records and information management and related fields through study, education, and research  • To advance professional knowledge and techniques by sharing and exchanging experiences and information • To develop and advance standards of professional competence in the field of records and information management • To obtain information about new software and hardware technologies available to information management

  3. Silver State Chapter Membership • 55 members: • Las Vegas • N. Las Vegas • Henderson • Mesquite • Arizona • Representing: • Food & Beverage • Utilities • IT • Compliance • Convention & Visitors Authority • Gaming

  4. 2008-2009 Highlights • Silver State hosted the 53rd Annual ARMA International Conference in 2008 • Two members of the chapter attended the Leadership Conference in 2008 • Chapter initiated a Membership Survey to better align meeting topics to meet the needs of our members

  5. Meeting Variety • Meetings held every other month resulting in steady attendance • Each meeting averages 25 members = 45% chapter attendance. Some decline recognized due to economic climate change • Free meeting pass for members bringing a nonmember • Free meeting locations

  6. Meeting Subjects • E-mail Archiving • Conducting a Records Management Audit • Integrated Document Imaging • E Discovery • Best Practices for Tape Storage and Electronic Vaulting • Compliance Audit

  7. Chapter Participation • During the 2008 International Conference: • High attendance of chapter members, including a majority of the ARMA International Host Committee • Earned $1,400 by holding a raffle for our chapter’s charity- Safe House in Henderson, NV Safe House is committed to stopping domestic violence • Great networking opportunities and building friendships within the Chapter
