New roles of LTC nursing staff • Leadership and support in the planning, implementation, and ongoing maintenance • EHR brings new variables to health record management • Clerical roles and staff are eliminated and more educated, technically advanced staff are required • Deploying and maintaining an EHR requires professionals with higher technical skills • Complexities in maintaining and managing EHRs need educated staff in HIT and nursing
