  1. What Goes Into Vehicle Armoring? Armoring involves upgrading a vehicle so that it can stay protected in the face of bullets, bombs and other attacks. This will in turn keep the people inside safe while ensuring that they reach their destination as safely as possible.

  2. Armored Frame This is a rigid shell that is applied over the entire framework of the vehicle. It encases the entire vehicle – from the roof and floor to the door posts, hinges, etc. The armoring material is usually arranged in a jigsaw pattern without any gaps anywhere. This way the vehicle retains its original shape as well.

  3. Reinforced Bumpers The bumpers are usually the first point of contact and have to be suitably armored to the level that they can run through almost anything. They are rendered capable of surviving repeated impact as well.

  4. Ballistic Glass Most of the attacks on a vehicle – irrespective of whether it is moving or stationary – are on the windows. The attackers prefer to target the glass simply because it affords visibility - they can see what is happening inside! Therefore, it is imperative for all glass elements to be replaced with ballistic glass that can withstand different kinds of assaults without breaking.

  5. Add-On Options Apart from the standard armoring, a person can choose various additional upgrades like run flat tires, electric door handles, bomb blankets, etc. and these will also be incorporated into the armored vehicle.

  6. Mechanics The armoring materials and ballistic glass add considerable weight to the vehicle which in turn impacts the performance. Therefore, the brakes, suspension, axles and other engine components have to be suitably modified so as to power the heavier load.
