  2. Evesham Township • Evesham Township is 30 square miles with a population of 50,000 permanent residents • The daytime population swells to approximately 100,000 with visitors and transient workers

  3. A Diverse Mix • There is a mix of single family and multiple family dwellings interspersed with commercial and light industrial occupancies • There is a significant wildland/urban interface in Evesham Township and contiguous communities

  4. Evesham Fire-Rescue • We provide fire, rescue and emergency medical services; an all-hazards department • 3 response stations equidistant throughout the township: Main Street, Kings Grant, Kettle Run • Fire Administration is located at the Evesham Township Municipal Building • Coverage is provided by a mix of career and volunteer staffing

  5. A Busy Department • In 2010, Evesham Fire-Rescue responded to 5,436 calls for service • Fire 1,755 • EMS 3,681 • Call volume has increased significantly in the past ten years with EMS doubling

  6. Frontline Fire Apparatus • Fire engines are the workhorses of the fire service and respond first-out to numerous types of calls for service • In Evesham, there are two engines stationed at each of Townships three fire-rescue stations.

  7. Frontline EMS Apparatus • Evesham Fire-Rescue has 5 Basic Life Support units • Three BLS units at Main Street, one each at Kings Grant and Kettle Run

  8. Specialty Apparatus • Ladder Companies (Main Street and Kings Grant) provide for elevated rescue and water streams • Rescue Companies (Main Street and Kettle Run) provide for specialized rescue and entrapment

  9. More than just Fire and EMS • Evesham Fire-Rescue also conducts fire prevention inspections and construction inspections for fire code compliance • Conducted more than 4,500 inspections in 2009, with at least one inspection in every business within the township

  10. Public Education • Prevention staff visit every K-5 classroom everyyear in Evesham Township teaching fire and general safety • Conduct numerous station tours, install smoke detectors, and teach CPR to the community

  11. Service comes at a cost • The fire district has worked very hard to keep operating costs as low as absolutely possible while providing the same outstanding level of service the community has come to expect • Wherever possible, Evesham Fire-Rescue seeks opportunities for alternate funding. In each of the last three years we have been successful in receiving federal grant funding to support operations that have transferred the cost of several expenses from the local tax base to federal grant programs
