  2. Mat 26:31 “Todos vosotros os escan-dalizaréis de mí esta noche; porque escrito está: Heriré al pastor, y las ovejas del rebaño serán dispersadas”. Tropezar – desampararlo, negarle. • Matt 26:31 “All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: 'I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.‘” Abandon, deny Him.

  3. Mat 26:33 “Pedro le dijo: Aunque todos se escandalicen de ti, yo nunca me escandalizaré. Jesús le dijo: De cierto te digo que esta noche, antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces”. • Mt 26:33 “Even if all are made to stum-ble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.Jesus said to him, Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times."

  4. Mat 26:35 “Aunque me sea necesario morir contigo, no te negaré. Todos los discípulos dijeron lo mismo”. ¿Eran sinceros o era jactancia vana? ¿Esta-ban dispuestos a morir con Cristo? • Mt 26:35 "Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!" And so said all the disciples.” Were they sincere or was this just idle boasting? Were they will-ing to die with Christ?

  5. Jn 13:37 “Señor, ¿por qué no te puedo seguir ahora mismo? Yo daré mi vida por ti! .. ¿Tu vida pondrás por mí? .. No cantará el gallo, sin que me hayas negado tres veces”. • Jn 13:37 "Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake .. Will you lay down your life for My sake? the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.”

Compárense el “Yo soy” de Jesús (Jn 18:5) con el “No lo conozco” de Pedro. • Mt 26:69, a servant girl … 26:71 Another girl … 26:73, they said “your speech betrays you” … Denied with oaths. Compare Jesús’ “I Am” (Jn. 18:5) with Peter’s “I do not know Him.”

  7. ¿Somos mejores que Pedro? ¿Cuántas veces hemos caído en pecado a pesar de las muchas advertencias de Jesús y los apóstoles? Mat 26:41; 1 Cor 10:12 • Are we better than Peter? How many times have we fallen into sin inspite of the many warnings of Christ and the apostles? Mt 26:41; 1 Cor 10:12

  8. ¿Dijo Jesús que Pedro era hipócrita? ¿Dijo que era cobarde? ¿Huyó Pedro? ¿Se escondió? No, porque en verdad estaba dispuesto a morir por Cristo. Jn 18:10. ¿Por qué no siguió peleando? • Did Jesus say that Peter was a hypo-crite? Did He say he was a coward? Did Peter flee? Did he hide? No, because in reality he was willing to die for Christ. Jn.18:10. Why didn’t he keep fighting?

  9. Mat 26:52 “Vuelve tu espada a su lugar”. Jn 18:36 “me reino no es de este mundo. Si mi reino fuera de este mundo, entonces mis servidores pelearían”. Luc 22:51, Sanó a Malco. • Mt 26:52 “Put your sword in its place”. Jn 18:36 “my kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight”. Lk 22:51, Jesus healed Malchus.

  10. Tenía conceptos errados acerca de Jesús, su misión y su reino. Mt 16:22; 18:1; Jn 18:36. No estaba preparado para pelear y morir de la manera ense-ñada por Cristo. Problema=ignorancia. • He had erroneous concepts of Jesus, His mission and kingdom. Mt 16:22; 18:1; Jn 18:36. Was not prepared to fight and die in the way taught by Jesus. Problem = ignorance.

  11. Luc 22:30, no entendía la maña que Satanás usaría contra él. Satanás le confundió y le engañó. No temió a los soldados, pero cuando “se le acercó una criada …” ¿qué dijo? • Lk 22:30, did not understand the tactics that Satan would use against him. Satan confused and deceived him. He was not afraid of the soldiers, but when a servant girl came,” what did he say?

  12. Es indispensable que uno se conozca a sí mismo. Pedro no sólo no conocía a Cristo, tampoco se conocía a sí mismo, Rom. 12:3; 1 Cor. 10:12; 2 Cor. 13:5, examinar corazón, vida, debilidades .. • It is indispensable that one know him-self.   13. No se imaginaba que sería capaz de negar a Jesús, porque no reconocía que Satanás le podría confundir y engañar. ¿De qué somos capaces? Luc 22:32, Jesús sabe y por eso … ruega. • He never imagined that he was capable of denying Jesus, because he didn’t realize that Satan could confuse and deceive him. Of what are we capable? Lk 22:32, Jesus knows and … prays.

  14. Debemos estar preparados para lo inesperado. Estaba preparado para soldados pero no para confusión y las pruebas consecuentes. Se le olvidó lo que había dicho, Mat 16:16; Jn 6:68. • We must be prepared for the unexpect-ed. He was prepared for soldiers but not for confusion and consequent trials He forgot what he had said, Mt 16:16; Jn 6:68.

  15. Jesús dijo “no temáis” a los hombres y Pedro no temió a los soldados, pero a los hermanos sí, Gál 2:11, 12. Lo mis-mo sucede ahora. No temen a los sec-tarios, pero a hermanos errados sí. • Jesus said “fear not” men and Peter did not fear soldiers, but he did fear brethren, Gal. 2:11, 12. Same thing happens today. Don’t fear sectarians, but do fear brethren in error.

  16. Luc 22:54 Pedro siguió “de lejos” y es-taba con los enemigos “calentándose” Jn 18:18. Si se hubiera quedado cerca de Jesús cada momento, habría reci-bido fuerza para resistir al enemigo. • Lk 22:54 Peter followed “afar off” and was with the enemies warming himself Jn. 18:18. If he had stayed close to Jesus each moment, he would have received strength to resist the enemy.

  17. ¿Qué pasó cuando el gallo cantó? Luc 22:61, 62, (1) “Entonces, vuelto el Señor, miró a Pedro”; (2) “Pedro se acordó”; y (3) “saliendo fuera, lloró amargamente”. • What happened when the rooster crowed? Lk 22:61,62 (1) “And the Lord turned and looked at Peter”; (2) “And Peter remembered”; (3) “and he went out and wept bitterly.”

Conclusión: Muchas lecciones: Cono-cer a Cristo, a sí mismo, mañas de Sa-tanás, esperar lo inesperado, no temer a ningún hombre, estar cerca de Jesús, arrepentirnos cuando pecamos … • Conclusion: Many lessons: Know Jesus, know ourselves, tactics of Satan expect the unexpected, not fear any man, stay close to Jesus, repent when we sin …
