  2. Simile A comparison of two things using “like, as than,” or “resembles.” Examples: Blind as a bat. It was as clear as mud. I slept like a log last night. I can’t see nuthin’! Z Z Z

  3. Metaphor A direct comparison of two unlike things Examples: Mr. Novak is an encyclopedia of English knowledge. My mom’s cooking was garbage.
