  19. Constitutional Amendment Background The current budget scheduling for the club occurs in March of the current year with a budget that will be in effect the following calendar year. For example, we are presenting a budget now that will have the majority of its expenses done in the summer of 2014. It is virtually impossible to estimate revenue and expenses that far in advance. As a result budgets are often wildly inaccurate.

  20. Proposed Amendment The board proposes that the fiscal yearend for the club be moved to December 31st. This will allow for budgeting to occur in the fall, be approved by the membership in the November meeting and the new budget to come into effect January 1st. This will allow us to forecast the budget for the coming season immediately before the season starts. In order to accommodate this change the yearend financial review meeting, which normally happened in November, will now switch to the March general meeting. The following Constitutional changes will be required in order for this to occur. These changes are in Article III of the current constitution document.

  21. Implementation We, the board, propose that this change occur starting on January 1st 2014, with the first budget being presented ahead of this at the November 2013 general meeting. This budget will be an amended version of the one that is presented currently. We see no impact with the 2013 budget being carried forward two additional months since there is little expense anticipated in November and December of 2013.

  22. Debate, questions, comments??? Call for Motion to accept as proposed?

  23. Thank you and Happy Easter!
