  3. What do you think the term means?__________________ Inter: a prefix that means “between”, “among”, “mutually”, “together”, “during”. Textuality: relating to or based on a communicative content under analysis as an object of study.

  4. INTERTEXTUALITY__________________ The shaping of a text’s meaning by another text. Where a text references another text. Intertextual forms include: allusion, quotation, translation, reference, easter eggs, and parody. An example of intertextuality is a writer’s borrowing and transformation of a prior text, and incorporating an aspect of it in a new text.

  5. INTERTEXTUALITY__________________ Some texts refer directly to each other – such as in 'remakes' of films or films of novels (and vice versa). Songs are also included. Also media / society in television shows and TV commercials The interpretation of these references is influenced by the audiences’ prior knowledge of other texts.
