  1. Pallet Storage Methods In The Warehouse That Optimise Space In today's competitive environment, enterprises and manufacturers must be acquainted with the various methods that are incorporated at warehouses for the storage of inventory which is optimal and saves on storage cost. At the same time, warehouse companies understand the need for implementing storage methods that suitcustomers’ demands most appropriately. Pallet loads come from placement in storage until the need require you to prepare them for shipment. Pallet loads container variety of products from bags of peanuts to transmission and everything in between. Some are time-sensitive while others can bestored for long periods. Each load requires specific consideration for storage. So, warehouse pallet storage South Shore

  2. offer so many storage variations. Here we will cover some very simple to extremely complex palletised racking methods. 1: Shuttle racking –Shuttle racking uses the simple principle as a drive in racking, but it is more automated. It uses battery-powered shuttle platforms to move stock down the racking. It also allows for multiple products to be stored with lanes so has an even higher storage density. Its 85 space utilisation has to be balanced against its low throughput though.

  3. 2: Selective racking –These are by far the most common racking option, mainly because of the many variations available. However, these variations still are ruled by certain restrictions. Most selective racks allow one, maybe two pallets deep. This is beneficial in providing easy access to products that turnover quickly and offers easy access to a variety of SKUs. No special equipment is needed to load or unload from these racks. 3: Drive-in racking –The drive-in rack is a shot of amalgamation of double deep racking and block stacking. It features drive-in lanes that provide five to ten load spaces which provide forklift access to store and retrieve the pallets. Reduced forklift maneuverability increases the amount of time to store and retrieve pallets. Drive-in racks solutions use‘ the last in, first out’ retrieval principle. 4: Single-deep pallet racking –Most common storage method used today is the Single-deep pallet rack. Loads are stored in one palette Deep which allows access to each pallet in the rack. No honeycombing. It is conveniently accessed. It can be configured in a variety of ways. 5: Block stacking – Block stacking refers to unit loads stacked on top of each other and stored on the warehouse floor in lanes or blocks. The pallets are stacked to a specific height based on some criteria such as pallet condition, the weight of the load, height clearance and the capability of the warehouse forklifts. Whether you use drive-in racking or block-stacking, plastic pallet pooling can increase the efficiency of the pallet storage methods in the warehouse and reduce the number of idle pallets your facility must store at any given time.
