Johann Sebastian Bach(composer) • One of germanies and the worlds most famouse composers. • Came from a dynasty of 7generations of musicians from the 16th-18th century. • Born March 31st 1685 in Eisenach, Germany • His father was Johann Ambrosius Bach, organist. He taught him how to play violin and harpischord. He died in 1695 leaving his son orphaned at age 10. • He moved with his brother who taught him how to play the organ. • Died July 28 1750 in Leipzig.

Ludwing van Bethoven(composer) • Another of the worlds most famous musical composers. • He was a pianist and a composer. • Born December 17, 1770 in Bonn, Germany. • His father Johann Bethoven was also a musician at the Court of Bonn. • He had no children. • Died of cirrhosis, jaundice and liver failure in March 26 1827. Vienna, Austria.

  9. Felix Medelssohn(composer) • Was a German composer, conductor and pianist. • Was a very famous composer in the Romantic period. • Born February 3, 1809 in Hamburg, Germany.

  10. Richard Wagner(composer) • Was a 19th century German composer, conductor and theatre director. • Best know for his operas. • He built his own opera house. • Born in Leipzig, Germany May 22, 1813. • Died in Venice, Italy February 13 1883.

  11. Franz Ittenbach(Artist) • Born in Konigswinter, Germany in 1813. • Was a pupil at age 19 at the Academy of Dusseldorf. • Was a religious man • One of his important frescos waspainted in 1844 in a church at Remagen.

  12. Friedrich Albert Lange(artist) • Born on September 28, 1828 Wald, Germany. • He was a painter, philisopher and sociologist. • Died on Novermber 23, 1875

Johannes Brahms(composer) • Known as one of the “Three B’s” along with Bach and Bethoven. • Word famous composers of all time. • Giant of classical music. • Called by some “Last of the Classicists” and classified in the early Romantic period. • Born May 7, 1833, Hamburg, Germany. • Died in April 3, 1897, Vienna, Austria. Liver or pancreas failure.

  14. Max Ernst(artist) • Was born on April 2, 1891 in Bruhl, Germany. • Served in the Germany army during WW2. he later became an artist in the Dada movement, in 1922 he moved to Paris and helped found Surrealism. • He died in 1976
