PASA Objectives Increase educators’ knowledge statewide of research-based best practices in the education of ELLs; Increase educators’ knowledge of statewide resources and effective programs for the education ELLs; Increase educators’ ability to deliver linguistically accommodated, scaffolded instruction for ELLs; and Increase educators’ ability to incorporated newly revised English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) to design instruction with linguistic accommodations for ELLs.

  3. Funding for PASA Education Service Centers (ESCs) in the state of Texas are eligible to apply for and receive up to $40,000 to support registration fees and travel costs for educators from their region and service center personnel to attend the PASA conference.

  4. Conference Themes Quality, innovative programs that serve English learners Research-based instructional strategies and methodologies Differentiating Instruction with linguistic accommodations Leadership Systemic Change Program monitoring LEP SSI grant projects and initiatives

  5. Who Attends? Superintendents and campus administrators Grades 3-12 classroom educators curriculum support specialists and teacher leaders
