  2. About Mr. Mallard B.A Double Major, History/English, University of Newfoundland B.Ed University of CalgaryM.Ed University of New Brunswick Involved in Drama. Teaching theory (Critical pedagogy, Multiple intelligences, all students learn differently, question everything, critical thinking) I believe all students can become a great member of society if given the right guidance and tools. Mrs. Murray & I have a goal for students of 6C & 6D which is to make the transition from Elementary to Middle school a successful one. Introduction:

  3. About Mrs. Murray Bkin, BEd both at UNB. Major in Phys. Ed/Health and Science. Completed Leadership Program (year 2) Loves teaches because I love a challenge, I love guiding/coaching and I love working with children whether it is coaching or teaching Involved in coaching Volleyball, Rugby, Track & Field, STEM Expo, Math parent night, etc… Expectations are high. I believe that children crave boundaries and guidance. I believe every child is good at something. It is our job to bring out the best in them. The transition to Middle School is sometimes difficult, we wish for it to be easy! We are there for them!

  6. Who’s child is on Facebook? Did you know that the age is 16 yrs. old? Do you know if their settings are closed/private? Teachers are advocating using various devices, gadgets and media networks to enhance classroom and learning. We are also advocating responsible use of technology. 55% of US Teens (age 12 – 17) have a Social Network Site Profile. (Pew Internet & American Life Project, Teens and Social Media, 19 December 2007) Middle school children are using social media sites including: Facebook, Pintrest, Vine, Snapchat, Myspace, Youtube, Blogger, Twitter, Flickr, Wikipedia, etc… Be aware, be educated and help us tech your child about the effective, positive, responsible use of technology in the 21st century learning community. Technology IN THE CLASSROOM

  7. Class schedule – sent home with students, posted in their locker & around their homeroom. SSR – Our school wide goal for literacy is to improve reading results and also to enhance your child’s reading skills. We will continue to read directly after activity time for 25 minutes. Encourage your child to bring a novel that they enjoying reading. Daily Routine – must be reviewed and signed by parents/guardians and student. Schedule

  9. Mr. Mallard teaches: Language Arts/Soc. St. – Create effective communicators, Reading, Writing, Representing, Speaking & Viewing. Health – to homeroom class Mrs. Murray teaches: Math – Mental Math, Games, Strategies Toolkit, *home practice is valuable Science – Journal, Labs, Research Projects, STE2M Health – Physical Activity, Co-operative Games, Growth & Development. Other teachers teach - French, PRA (Art, Music, Technology) & Phys. Ed. Class Composition
