  3. Rivercrest ES to Barret’s K-8 DistanceRivercrest ES area to Barret’s K-8: 14.4 miles Transportation Comments: Students at Rivercrest ES in Bartlett are the closest to Barret’s ES and, therefore, will be needed to create the student population necessary to establish a viable K-8 grade configuration at this school. Academically, the proposed Receiving School, Barret’s outperforms Rivercrest ES. Utilization rate shown assumes current enrollment remains the same, including students from other municipalities and that all Memphis Reserve opt out of Bartlett Municipal School District.

  5. Rivercrest ES to Lucy ES • Distance • Rivercrest ES area to Lucy ES: 5.9 miles Transportation Comments Proposal sends children to school with their neighbors in adjacent subdivision with unincorporated students already attending Lucy ES. 7. Bartlett ES to Dexter ES • Distance • Bartlett ES area to Dexter ES: 7.5 miles Transportation Comments Since all immediately adjacent schools to east and south @ capacity and the Bartlett Corp. Limits intercedes to the west, Dexter ES is first available SCS school with adequate capacity to accommodate cohort. Both schools equal in Math but proposed Receiving School, Dexter ES, is lower performing in RLA. Utilization rates will be lower if some Memphis Reserve remain with

  8. Bailey Station ES to Highland Oaks ESSycamore ES to Southwind ES • Utilization • Current enrollment of Highland Oaks plus ALL rezoned reserve area students = 114% • Current enrollment of Highland Oaks plus 65% of rezoned reserve area students = 109% • Current enrollment of Southwind plus ALL rezoned reserve area students = 99% • Current enrollment of Southwind plus 65% of rezoned reserve area students = 98% Academic

  9. Bailey Station ES to Highland Oaks ESSycamore ES to Southwind ES • Distance • Bailey Station area to Highland Oaks ES: 3.8 miles • Sycamore area to Southwind ES: 3.8 miles Transportation Comments Proposed Receiving Schools are the ones closest to Sending Schools which are located within the Collierville Corp. Limits. Proposed Receivers do not perform as well academically as the Sending Schools.

  10. Riverdale ES (South Cordova) to Cordova ES & Germantown ES • Utilization • Current enrollment of Cordova plus ALL rezoned reserve area students = 114% • Current enrollment of Cordova plus 65% of rezoned reserve area students = 106% • Current enrollment of Germantown plus ALL rezoned reserve area students = 144% • Current enrollment of Germantown plus 65% of rezoned reserve area students = 138% Academic

  11. Riverdale ES (South Cordova) to Cordova ES & Germantown ES • Distance • South Cordova area to Cordova ES: 2.8 miles; South Cordova area to Germantown ES: 7.5 miles Transportation Comments Proposal sends students north of Bazemore Rd. to Cordova ES. Students residing south of Bazemore would attend Germantown ES. Cordova ES is closest school but doesn’t have adequate capacity to accommodate entire cohort. Utilization rate assumes that all Germantown resident students will remain at GES.

  12. E. A. Harrold ES to Jeter K-8 • Utilization • Current enrollment plus ALL rezoned reserve area students = 58% • Current enrollment plus 65% of rezoned reserve area students = 55% • Other proposed rezonings to Jeter include Millington MS & Woodstock MS • Utilization will ALL above students = 80% • Utilization with current enrollment plus 65% of above students = 70% Academic

  13. E. A. Harrold ES to Jeter K-8 • Distance • E. A. Harrold ES to E. E. Jeter K-8: 8 miles Transportation Comments Similar to Barret’s Chapel, EE Jeter is remotely located in a sparsely developed rural area. EE Jeter is the SCS school in closest proximity to E A Harrold. Jeter is substantially underutilized; so students from EA Harrold will ensure an increase in building utilization and facilitate efforts to establish a K-8 grade configuration. Jeter has better academic performance than the sending school, EA Harrold.

  14. Evans ES to Oakhaven ES • Utilization • Current enrollment plus ALL rezoned reserve area students = 131% • Current enrollment plus 65% of rezoned reserve area students = 116% Academic

  15. Evans ES to Oakhaven ES • Distance • Oakhaven area (Evans satellite) to Oakhaven ES: 3.1 miles • Oakhaven area (Evans satellite) to Evans ES: 6.2 miles Transportation Comments The primary objective here is to eliminate the long-standing Evans satellite from the Oakhaven area so that students may attend Oakhaven ES, their neighborhood school. Oakhaven ES is a better performing school than Evans ES, where they are currently being bused. While there is no cost savings for transportation, this rezoning will reduce the distance travelled by half for these elementary school students.

  16. Footnotes • Utilization • Elementary school utilization was calculated using the current staffing formula • one teacher/every 20 students (K-3) and one teacher/24.5 students (4-5). • If the midway formula is adopted, the formula changes to • one teacher/every 20 students (K-3) and one teacher/24.75 students (4-5) • This slight change in formula will not significantly effect elementary utilization. Distance Distance is measured from the school to the student residing farthest from the school. • Transportation • Proposed additional GenEd busses are determined on the following formula: • Elementary school busses – 65 students per bus • K-8 school buses – 55 students per bus • Middle and high school buses – 45 students per bus • % Eligible GenEd students are determined on the following formula: • East, Northeast, and Southeast Regions – 90% of eligible students • Northwest and Southwest Regions – 72% of eligible students
