  1. Inserting video, audio, and hyperlinking in PowerPoint presentations

  2. Create a New Folder for Each Lesson • When preparing a lesson, create a new folder • Put ALL materials related to the lesson into the folder • Include all video clips, audio clips, documents, etc.

  3. Inserting Downloaded Video • Find your video • If the video can be downloaded, right click, choose “save target as…” and save it in your folder • In PowerPoint, choose “insert”, movie • An example is shown here

  4. Inserting a Hyperlinked Video • Find the video you would like to hyperlink • Highlight, right click, and copy the URL • In PowerPoint, choose “insert”, Hyperlink • Paste the URL and give it a name: History-JP Morgan

  5. Inserting a Hyperlinked Video • You can select a picture and hyperlink to the picture • “Insert”, picture • Click on picture, click “insert”, hyperlink

  6. Insert an Audio Clip • Decide on your audio clip • If you are using an audio clip from a website, you may have to hyperlink the site • If you can download from a website, right click and choose “save target as”, save in your folder • If you are using a track from a CD, you will need the CD available at the time of your presentation • In PowerPoint, “insert”, sound, choose the source of your sound

Video Converters • Some videos may download in another format, they will need to be converted in order to use and view them • The following link is a good downloader/converter program: http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ • It will allow you to download from select sites or you can convert downloaded videos into other media formats
