  1. How to sign up for unite! To begin your registration, go to www.ilunite.org, Employers and Volunteers, and click “Join Now” 1 If you wish to list a company profile, check this box. 1 2. Would you personally like to be a virtual career coach?A career coach is someone who is volunteering to provide general career guidance in career areas where they have expertise. Students will be given the opportunity to access discussion boards where Career Coaches offer their experience, insights and ideas. If so, enter “yes” here. If you are not planning on being a career coach yourself, simply check “no”. You will be able to invite others from your company to be career coaches later in the sign up process. 2 122 3 4 5 6 Would you like to offer Career Exploration Activities? Examples are job shadowing, company tours, internships, etc. Please note that any activities involving student contact do require a background check. Once the check is completed, you will have an opportunity to choose these activities. Would you like to answer questions about your company on a virtual message board? Would you like the opportunity to send targeted messages to students and teachers through unite? 3 5 4 6. Answer yes if you are an industry expert interested in volunteering, but are not associated with a company, or do not need a company profile. Continue your registration by filling out thecontact information that follows. After clicking “continue” at the bottom of the page, you will receive a message thanking you for registering. You will receive an email immediately with a link to continue the registration process. 7 6

  2. Clicking on the link will bring you to this page. Your assigned screen name is listed, however, if you wish to be identified by a nickname, please change it here. Select and confirm your password. After reading the terms and conditions, please check the box at the bottom of the page, and continue. 8 8 Fill out the company information requested. Industries are listed according to the North American Industry Classification System. For help finding your industry, please see www.naics.com/search or www.bls.gov. If you signed up to be a Career Coach or plan to offer Career Exploration Activities, your personal information is requested here. If you did not choose these options, only the company information will appear. Please enter the company information and skip to step 9 9 14

  3. If you are registering a company profile only, please skip to step 14 If you are registering as a Career Coach, choose all of the careers that match your area or areas of expertise. Career titles may not exactly match your own, but please come as close as you can. Fill in your years of experience in that field, as well as a brief description of your responsibilities. 10 10 11 11 12 “My Career History” outlines your path to the title you currently hold. 12 12

  4. If you would like to offer any Career Exploration Activities (CEAs), please check them here. Click on “view” to see a description of the activity. CEAs may be added or removed at any time. 13 13 Message: After choosing your Career Exploration Activities, you will receive this message. 14 An email will then be sent to you with your user name and password. Please log back in to now complete your company profile! 14 14

  5. Please begin by clicking on Update My Profile on the left hand side of the page and verify that your personal information is correct. You may also fill out the My Career History that outlines your path to the title you currently hold if you haven’t already done so. If you did not register to be a Career Coach or answer questions on a company message board, those message boards will not appear on this screen. 15 15 • To enter company information, click on Update Company Profile, and choose Description and Details from the drop down menu. Once complete, click on Preview Profile on the same page to view your company profile as it will be seen by students and job seekers. • Use Locations from the drop down menu to add additional locations of your business. • Click the Career Profiles link to list all of the occupations employed at your company. To add additional careers, click on Add Careers at the bottom of the page. The more careers you list, the more activity you could potentially see on your company profile. • Continue to the Who We Hire link on the profile drop down menu, and provide information on what traits you look for, in general, when hiring for your company. • The Career Coach category lists those individuals from your company currently volunteering to connect with students as career coaches. 16 16 17 17

  6. If you would like to participate in Career Exploration Activities, choose this option. If you wish to enter specific information about an internship, part time job, or scholarship program, you may click on “Add New Opportunity” and listthat information. Otherwise, the CEAs you listed in step 13 will be checked off here. If you are adding CEAs for the first time on this screen, you will be asked to fill out the personal information needed to complete a background check. You will also be asked to agree to the unite! terms and conditions. You will be notified when the background check is complete. Remember Career Exploration Activities may be changed at any time. 18 18 19 Under Manage Accounts, the *indicates the main company contact. As the main contact, you may invite others within your organization to participate as a Career Coach or more. Simply click on Add New Contact, and enter the name and email address of the person you would like to invite. You may then select what activities this person will have permission to do through unite! 19 19 Thank you for registering with unite! Please refer to the Manage My unite! Account guide, or the Career Coach Guide for further information on using unite! after the registration process.
