INTRODUCTION The iPhone is an internet connected multimedia smartphone designed and marked by Apple inc. with a flush multitouch screen and a minimal hardware interface.lacking a physical keyboard, a virtual keyboard is renderd on the touch screen. The iPhone function include those of a camera phone and portable media player in addition to also offers internet service including e-mail, web browsing and local wi-fi connectivity. Apple announced the iPhone on january 9,2007

  5. HISTORY • The genesis of the iPhone began with Apple. Apple sold 270,000 iPhone in the first 30 hours on launch weekend. In 2007, 8 million iPhone were sold in the u.s. the original iPhone was subsequently made available in five other countries Ireland, the UK , France , Germany and Austria.

  6. HARDWARE • Rear view of an original iPhone. The back is made of metal and black plastic. • Screen: The 9cm liquid crystal display touchscreen with scratch resistant glass is specifically created for use with a finger or multiple touch sensing • Audio:- The iphone’s headphone are similar to those of most current smartphone. A multiple purpose button in the microphone can be used to play or pause music, skiptracks and answer or end phone calls without touching the iphone. • Battery:- The iphone features a built-in rechargeable battery that is not user – replaceable similar to existing ipods. • Sim card:- The sim card is located in a slot at the top of the device. • Storage:- The iphone was initially with two options for internal storage size , either a 4GB or 8GB flash drive model was available.

  7. SOFTWARE • iPhone os is an operating system that runs on the iphone and ipod touch. • Application :- the photo display application. There are several application located on the home screen, text , calender , photos , camera , maps ,weather ,clock ,calculator , notes , setting and iTunes. • Software update :- Apple provide free updates iPhone operating system through iTunes , in a similar fashion to the way that ipods are update

  8. FEATURE • Multimedia:- It is similar to ipods. The iPhone can its media library by songs, artist, albums ,videos ,playlists. • Internet connectivity :- The internet connection after by the iPhone has been widely utilized by user. • E-mail :- The iPhone also feature an e-mail program that supports HTML e-mail, which enables the user to embed photos in an e-mail message PDF , word , excel , powerpoint attachment to mail messages • Camera :- The iPhone feature a built in 2.0 megapixel camera located on the back for still digital photos. The iPhone include software that allows the user to upload , view and e-mail photos . • Text input:-Text input the device implement a virtual keyboard on the touchscreen. It has automatic spell checking and correction.

  9. SPECIFICATION • Original model :- It is a 4GB model or 8GB model • Size :- 4.5 inches • Weight:- : 135g • Battery:- Battery has up to 8 hours of talk , 6 hours of internet uses , 7 hours of video playback , lasting over 250 hours on stand by

  10. RESTRICTION • Sim lock removal :- While initial iPhones were only sold on the AT & T network with a sim lock in place , various hacker have found method to “ unlock” the phone; more recently some carries have started to sell unloacked iPhones.

  11. CONCLUSION • Every electronic device has its advantages and disadvantages. iphone also so have advantages like its feature , hardware , software etc and disadvantages like we have to use bare skin only it can’t be operate with gloves. It is more costly then simple phone.
