  1. R(s) + C(s) K _ Consider the system shown in the following figure. Design a PD controller to yield 4.60% overshoot with a threefold reduction in settling time. • Find the settling time before using a PD controller. • The procedure is the same as what we did in Design Problem 1 (Ts = 2.29 sec). Design Problem • Find the new settling time after using PD controller. i.e., Ts_new = Ts / 3 = 2.29 / 3 = 0.76 sec. • Follow the steps 1, 2, 3 to design the PD controller.
