  1. How to Go About Sourcing Antique Wooden Furniture?

  2. Are you looking to buy antique furniture? You can find them in the antique auctions in California. But before taking out your wallet, keep these things in mind: Is it New or Antique? If it looks like new, most probably it is! Pay close attention to the smaller details like the nails etc. Shinier nails are an indication of newer construction, and you should stay away from it.

  3. Look for the Dovetails Can you find the dovetail joints that bind the furniture there? It is an indication that the item was made without the use of the nails by a cabinetmaker and was not produced in the factory. If the dovetails are thinner, it shows that the craftsman was skilled, and it means that the quality of the piece is high. Evaluate the Hardware Properly Carefully look at the wooden hardware. Can the drawer be pulled out easily? If it is genuinely vintage furniture, the inside of the drawer will reveal it. Don’t Shine or Polish It is better not to shine or polish the furniture before taking it to online antique auctions in California. It might clean a vintage piece but may decrease its value.
