  2. 3 Terms associated with our subject of choice: sound Ambient sound: The normal sound in which exists in a particular scene or location. Character Theme: This is the type of music that is mostly tied to a certain character in the movie. Dubbing: The act of ‘voice-over’, more or less.

  3. Who Are Foley Artists? A Foley Artist creates the sounds that are in the movies. They work in a room that has many controls and televisions, so that they can edit and review clips of movies and add different and unique sounds. For example, to create footsteps that didn’t get recorded, the Foley Artist as to put on those shoes (used in the film) and walk on the appropriate surface. Also for a punches, they can be made by hitting a taped-up phonebook or a roasted chicken.

  4. What are some interesting ways sound editors makecertain sounds? You can tear heads off of cabbage for a paper shredder. They also walk on different surfaces to walking, a splash tank, echo, chambers, and a mixing booth where the sounds engineers record and mix everything.

  5. How is the score to a film composed? A film score is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question. The music supervisor/team is responsible for selecting the tracks.

  8. Sound Effects video Info. In the clip it shows all the scenes in which Michel Winslow made cool sound effects just with his voice. This is a good example of creative and interesting vocal sound effects. Michel Winslow can make the most notable, machine gun noises to clear a crowd forming around their cruiser.
