  1. Reality vs. Speculation Lk. 24:13-27 Speculation - “theoretical…uncertain” (Webster)

  2. The Temptation & Premillennialism Mt. 4:3-11 Jesus relied on the word of God (Dt. 8:3; 6:16; 6:13) Eve relied on the word of Satan (a later revelation), Gen. 3:1-5 Satan misused Scripture on Jesus!

  3. Made The Figurative - Literal Satan quoted Ps. 91:10-13 This followed Christ’s quotation of Dt. 8:3 Moses was not saying they could not hurt their feet, and literally trample the lion and cobra (cp. Is. 11:6; 35:9) Speaking figuratively of God’s protection of His children.

  4. Millennialists Literalize Make 1,000 years literal – when it suits their theory of an earthly kingdom Cattle on a thousand hills, Ps. 50:10 If a man lives 1,000 years twice over, Eccl. 6:6 One day as a thousand years, 2 Pet. 3:8 Satan bound, martyred saints reign a thousand years, Rev. 20:2-4

  5. Conditional - Unconditional Satan’s use of Ps. 91:9-14 (“knowing,” – implies knowledge, faith and trust in the Almighty, Pulpit) Jesus knew also Dt. 6:16 (Mt. 4:7) Trust does not justify jumping to see if God will protect Him God made conditional promises to Israel, Ex. 19:5; Dt. 28:8,15; 30:5-10

  6. Partial View Satan quoted Scripture to try to get Jesus to ignore other Scripture “The entirety of Your word is truth,” Ps. 119:160 Walvoord – has 12 pages of passages listed in “The Millennial Kingdom,” – not one mention of Col. 1:13; Heb. 12:28; Mk. 1:15; 9:1 – Why?

  7. Christ is King Dan. 7:13,14 – “I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! (in Acts 1:9 He was going) He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom…And His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed.” (Eph. 1:20-23; Heb. 12:28; Dan. 2:44)

  8. He Overcame and Sat Heb. 1:3 – “…when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” V. 13 – “But to which of the angels has He ever said: Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool?” 10:12 – “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God”

  9. The End of Christ's Reign 1 Cor. 15:24-26 – “Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.”

  10. Conclusion Millennialism says God substitutedthe Church for the Kingdom because the Jews killed Jesus. If the Jews had not killed Jesus, they would have been saved without the cross! If Jews had not killed Jesus, Gentiles would not be blessed through the cross! Heb.10:11-18; 9:24-26
