We invite you to support as many children as you can, and join one of our honorary clubs: Bir Mum - One Candle $300 – Support one child for an entire year Yeni Ay -New Moon $1500- Support 5 children Ay Yıldız – Moon&Star $3000 – Support 10 children Dolunay - Full Moon $6000 – Support 20 Children Güneş (Sun) $15000 – Support 50 children How does TEF find and select scholarship students in Turkey? We find and select our students with the help of similar organizations in Turkey, including Türk Eğitim Derneği, Çağdaş Yaşamı Destekleme Derneği, Anadolu Çağdaş Eğitim Vakfı (ANAÇEV). Scholarships are based on both merit and financial need. Students can renew their annual scholarships so long as they continue to succeed in their studies. What percentage of TEF’s donations go toward student scholarships? More than 98% of all donations are sent directly to TEF students. TEF is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Are my contributions tax deductible? Yes, TEF is a 501(c)(3) status non-profit organization. You may be able to double your contributions if your company provides matching funds. Isn’t secondary education free in Turkey? Yes, but financial hardship forces many families to supplement their income by sending their children to work rather than sending them to school. As little as $25 a month ($300 a year) tips the scale in favor of the child staying in school. Your donation makes a huge difference to a child by allowing them to continue their education and have a chance for a better life. Turkish Educational Foundation Turkish Educational Foundation (TEF) was founded in 1970 as a non-profit organization dedicated to improving children’s lives through education. Since that time, TEF has provided scholarships to thousands of talented, poor children in Turkey. In many areas of Turkey, poverty often prevents families from sending their children to secondary school. The lucky minority who can continue their education are often passionate about their studies and aspire to become teachers or doctors. TEF helps children like these continue their schooling by partnering with projects such as “I have a daughter in Anatolia, she is going to be a teacher.” Now more than ever, TEF needs your help. With your support, we hope to dramatically increase the number of scholarships we provide to children in Turkey. Thank you for supporting the Turkish Educational Foundation. Your generosity lights the path to a brighter future for these children.
