  1. GEWISS Restartés Restart autoteszt 2p ill. 4 polus Előadás 2005-2008

  2. Problem n°1: untimely trip This is a trip of a switch that happens without the fault presence: it is very felt by the users EXTERNAL CAUSES • Storms • Manoeuvre on the electric system from the electric distributor • Manoeuvre on the electric load in a nearby factory INTERNAL CAUSES • Noises induced by electronic devices

  3. Economical damages for perishable goods Loss of important service Lack of safety Consequence

  4. Restart Automatic reset for 90 Range circuit breakers • Function:in case of untimely trip of the circuit breaker close it automatically • Gewiss patent • Winner of Intel design 2003 prize

  5. Restart Automatic reset for 90 Range circuit breakers • For SD – MTC – MT – MDC max 2 polessupplied 230V phase - neutral • 2 modules DIN device Suitable for the installation in small spaces

  6. Restart Automatic reset for 90 Range circuit breakers Two versions ReStart RM Automatic reset for RCD type MDC MCB type MTC and MT ReStart RD Automatic reset for RCD type SD

  7. Restart RD Automatic reset for 90 Range circuit breakers ReStart RD Automatic reset for SD Three dedicated codes already wired with SD type A 30mA Rated current 25A GW 90961 Rated current 40A GW 90962 Rated current 63A GW 90963

  8. Restart RD All the other versions of SD + RD are available with this simple codes:

  9. Restart RD ReStart RD Automatic reset for RCCBs SD Top safety • Preventive control of earth leakage before closure and stop in case of fault • Segnalling of reset in progress

  10. Restart RD Supply Sliding door activation / deactivation Cables for installation control Signalling led

  11. Restart RD RESTART OPERATING MODE CLICK CLICK Automatic mode Manual mode WITH RCCB TRIPPED AUTOMATIC FEATURES CAN’T BE ACTIVATED

  12. Restart RD RESTART OPERATING MODE Regular working Electrical system supplied Led off Preventive control of earth leakage after the tripping Electrical system not supplied Led is flashing Restart stops because of a fault Only manual reset Led is red

  13. Restart RM Automatic reset for 90 Range circuit breakers ReStart RM Automatic reset for MTC and MT type MCCB and for MDC type RCBO Four dedicated codes already wired with MDC type A 30mA Rated current 10A 4,5 – 6 kA Rated current 16A 4,5 – 6 kA

  14. Restart RM All the other versions of MDC + RM are available with this simple codes:

  15. Restart RM Top safety • Preventive control of earth leakages and stop in case of fault • Preventive control of short circuits and stop in case of fault • Segnalling of reset in progress

  16. Problem n°2: reliabilityof device • The RCD is a device extremely delicate. It uses a little differential current to produce a mechanical force for the trip of the switch • It is very easy to compromise the proper running • Some causes of improper working order: • Dust • Humidity degree • Aggressive atmosphere • Sudden variation of room temperature • Vibration • Presence of electromagnetic field For this reason the residual current devices are provided with a button to make a periodic test

  17. Test of residual current device What is the function of test button? To chek the good mechanical and electrical working of residual current device The test button is necessary to maintain the efficiency and reliability of the residual current device in time

  18. Reliability of residual current Also a IEC document shows how the periodic use of the test button increases the reliability of residual current devices Source: document SC23E IEC Without periodic test With periodic test

  19. Restart with Autotest Automatic resetting device with self testing RCD ReStart with Autotest ReStart RD Autotest RCD with automatic reset and periodic self testing One piece versions (already complete with 25A e 40A type A residual current circuit breaker)

  20. Restart with Autotest GW 90901 (25 A) - GW 90902 (40 A) • Size: 5 modules • Functions: • like Restart RD automatic resetting only after insulation to earth check • weekly self test without interruption of power supply • residual current protection always active GEWISS patent

  21. Restart with Autotest Signallings Left Led System test in progress System fault Device anomaly Synchronization button Right Led System powered System not powered Auxiliary contact for remote signalling

  22. Applications of Restart FRIDGE HOME - BLOCKS OF FLATS (stair lights, entry phones, gate automation)

  23. Applications of Restart AQUARIUM AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER (for garden irrigation)

  24. Applications of Restart ALARM (antitheft) FAX PERSONAL COMPUTER
