Why Add an Internal Modem? • External Modems are too difficult to set up • Customer confidence that it will just work (deliver mostly pre-configured) • No issues with non standard modems communicating with the logger (especially re: email and SMS commands) • Everyone understands email • One less piece of hardware to mount and wire

  4. DT82EM Hardware Changes • Internal modem • GSM / GPRS / EDGE (USA only) • GSM / GPRS / EDGE / WCDMA / HSUPA / HSDPA (all other places) • Serial host port removed • Aerial connector added • SIM card slot added

DT80M, DT85M / DT85GM Hardware Changes • Internal modem • GSM / GPRS / EDGE (USA only) • GSM / GPRS / EDGE / WCDMA / HSUPA / HSDPA (all other places) • Serial host port removed • Internal 6V batteries removed • Aerial connector added • SIM card slot added • 5D-8D now available as extra HSC (not DT80M) • Uses DT82 series style endcaps
