  1. Design Fundamentals Design College In India | Avantika University

  2. Design Fundamentals Designing is a field where one can apply their ideas and turn them into reality. It is a sphere that aims at enhancing the appearance of things around us. If you possess ingenious thinking and creativity, then this field is made for you. The field is laden with opportunities but there is equivalent competition among the professionals.

  3. Hence, you should pursue the course from reputed college in order to edge the competition. If you are looking for the best design institute, then you should bank on Avantika University.

  4. Situated in Ujjain, Avantika University is the first and only design-centric university of India. It is a part of the reputed MIT Pune and is known for its educational excellence. Its students are mentored by the faculty members of MIT Institute of Design. The university is known for its unique learning methodology that accentuates on ‘how to think’ rather than what to think.

  5. Through its courses, Avantika familiarises the candidates with the concepts, principles and design fundamentals. The prime fundamentals of design are as follows:

  6. Line Designed to present a diverse experience, lines in a design is a type of a shape which can be created either in a fat, wavy, jagged or thin way. Be it a graphic element, illustration or drawing, a line is a fundamental element which needs to be added in any type of design. However, different types of line have an immense effect on the design. Giving a new line design to a text can also lead to a creative result.

  7. Thus, while creating a line, varied qualities such as weight, style, texture or color must be considered deeply to create eye-catching line design.

  8. Shape It is quite strenuous to share one’s ideas with others verbally. So, shapes are used as one of the basic forms of transferring thoughts. A shape is a two-dimensional figure that is created by joining two or more lines. A shape is the foundation of almost everything in design. Signboards, signs or any abstract art is created by using different shapes. These shapes can either be in the geometric form or organic form.

  9. Form Shapes are two-dimensional elements and when these shapes become three-dimensional, they are known as form. Forms are used for the creation of sculptures or architectures in the real world. However, these forms need not have to be 3D. These can be implied easily with the use of illustrations such as light or shadow for the creation of illusion in layers. Even for the less realistic images, such illustrations can create unexpected dimensions. Forms create a powerful tool to make your work look more realistic.

  10. Texture One of the most tempting fundamentals of design, texture refers to an object’s bodily quality. It gives a sense of depth and tangibility to the flat objects. However, there is a limit to use every fundamental as its overuse can destroy the object’s feel. Too much texture in an image or object can give it a devastating look. So, designers should cleverly use textures.

  11. Balance In order to create a visually appealing look, there must be a balance between different elements. However, varied things such as space, color or number can also affect the balance.
