New Terms • The world produces 2x109 gigabytes of data per year = 250Mb per Man, Woman, Child on the planet • UK managers spend on average 102 minutes per day on 52 emails • Compare this with ten years ago…? • IT Users will need new skills to sift and use the information available • Professionals will need new skills, methods and applications to handle vast amounts of data “Infoglut” The growth of connectivity will only accelerate this trend John Gwynne
