Day 110 Opening Question • Title = Leader of West • You are the President of France, GB or USA and you are noticing an influx of Jews trying to immigrate into your country. • You hear news of anti-Semitism in Germany and conclude that these Jewish refugees are trying to leave a country where they are not wanted. • Do you let thousands of Jewish refugees into your country? Yes or No? • What might stand in your way from allowing a larger number of Jews into your country?

  2. The Holocaust • holocaust = destruction by fire • Holocaust = systematic murder of 11 million people across Europe • including ~6 million Jews • Today we will just address the first 2 tactics used by Nazis to begin creating the Aryan state • Climbing the Pyramid of Hate

  9. German Reaction…is there outrage? • Propaganda creating some fanatical anti-Semitism • Hitler criticized for Kristallnacht but most people afraid to speak out (terror) • People either behind Hitler or too afraid to resist

  10. Final Solution will go into effect after 1939 • Genocide • Ghettos, Concentration and Death Camps • Schindler’s List WWII and Holocaust
