  1. Graduate Destination Survey for 2012 Graduates At the start of August, you will be send an email invitation to give us your feedback on your experience at EIT. Your feedback will enable us to analyse not only how 2012 went, but also identify trends from last year to this year’s results. We can then identify areas that we need to improve as well as areas that we can use as great examples. Your feedback is highly valued. It will be looked at, it will be analysed and it will be used to make EIT a better place to study. We look forward to receiving your feedback. Have a look at last year’s results below. Best regards Markus Dipper

  2. Graduate Destination Survey Summary Report Graduates from 2011

  3. Purpose The Graduate Destination Survey was sent to all EIT graduates who completed their programme of study in 2011. The results help EIT to understand how successful our graduates are in finding employment and what best helped them find employment. This information will be used to provide current students with accurate information on employment, salary bands and job tenure that they can expect to find themselves in after graduation. By understanding who our graduates are and through the students’ reflection of their overall learning experiences, EIT can make Teaching and Learning more effective and improve our overall performance.

  4. Graduate Employment Situation 96.2% of our Maori graduates and 94.7% overall graduates are working, studying or planning to study. Just over 60% of graduates were working or self-employed on 1 June 2012 with 59% of those working full time. 97.2% of graduates were working in New Zealand. 80.6% were working in the Hawke’s Bay/East Coast region.

  5. Main Activity before Study This information before study and ‘reasons for enrolling’ enables us to better understand who our students are and what your needs are. The information feeds into EIT’s and the Annual and strategic Plans.

  6. Reasons for Enrolling Why did you choose to study? Why did you choose to study further rather than working

  7. Reasons for choosing EIT Key messages for EIT: EIT offers programmes that our learners want and their reasons for choosing EIT are complex. EIT will work on how to be even more accessible as an institution for students.

  8. Value of EITs qualifications What was your main purpose for studying at EIT? ‘Improving the chance of getting a job’ and ‘to increase skills in the current job’ are the main purposes for studying at EIT. How did the qualification help you to get employed? The ‘Qualification gained’ and the ‘skills’ and ‘knowledge’ acquired are also seen as the key themes that helped EIT graduates find a job. Comments by common themes

  10. Value for Money Did the programme represent a good investment of time and money? EIT’s target for this question is that at least 85% of our graduates consider their programme of study a good investment of time and money. We are pleased that we exceeded this target.

  11. Recommend the programme to others Would you recommend the programme to others?
