  2. DIMETIL ETER DIMETIL ETER (DME), juga dikenal sebagai methoxymethane, adalah senyawa organik dengan rumus CH 3-O-CH3. Yang paling sederhana eter , itu adalah gas tak berwarna yang merupakan prekursor berguna untuk senyawa organik lainnya dan propelan aerosol.

  4. Dimetil Eter sebagai bahan bakar alternatif Di dalam pemilihan bahan bakar alternatif yang harus dipertimbangkan diantaranya yaitu ramah lingkungan, efisiensi energi tinggi, dapat diperbaharui(renewable) dan drop in substitute (pengganti langsung) atau sedikit modifikasi pada komponen mesin

  5. KEGUNAAN Dimetil Eter (DME) yang dapat diperbaharui dan kegunaannya adalah untuk mesin diesel serta untuk kompor gas sebagai bahan bakar di rumah tangga. DME memiliki mono struktur kimia yang sederhana (CH3-O-CH3) berbentuk gas pada ambient temperature (suhu lingkungan) dan dapat dicairkan seperti halnya Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)

  6. Proses pembuatan DME • Proses pembuatan DME ada dua cara yaitu proses secara langsung dan proses tidak langsung. Proses tidak langsung adalah proses pembuatan methanol terlebih dahulu diikuti dehidrasi me-thanol dan pada reaktor terpisah disintesa DME. Proses langsung adalah proses dari pembentukan syngas (H2 & CO) disintesa menjadi DME.
