  2. TETRA (TErrestrial Trunked RAdio) is a digital standard similar to GSM for voice and data applications. All voice data will be processed and encoded into a digital bit stream at the sender side and decoded back to “analog audio” on the receiver side. During the whole transmission process within the TETRA infrastructure this digital voice data remains a digital 1-0-1… bit stream.

  3. The CoDec (Coder / Decoder) used for the TETRA voice process operates using an so called ACELP algorithm. (ACELP Algebraic CELP, CELP Code-Excited Linear Predictive) The result is a fantastic TETRA audio quality for special use in extreme environment as for Police, Firefighters, Ambulance and other (industrial) applications.

  4. The DVI-100 (Digital Voice Interface) is a special TETRA terminal, that feeds all received TETRA voice signals to its Ethernet (IP) port and vice verse, without any conversion to analog. So there is no reduction of the original TETRA voice quality. Additional also Status and SDS messages are forwarded to the DVI Ethernet port and sent to a (any) destination IP (and vice verse). The DVI uses the Open PTX Protocol (www.openptx.org) developed in co operation by the University of Dortmund and Piciorgros GmbH

  5. The DVI-100 can be operated in Server and in Client Mode and can be used as follows: • DVI Client to DVI Server [Back-to-Back] • DVI Server to Infrastructure switch • DVI Server to PC / iPhone / (iPad) • TETRA MicroSPOT – DVI in DMO mode

  6. The DVI-100 can be operated in DMO Mode and can be used as a TETRA Micro-Spot: • Connected to a DVI-Server • Connected to a PC / iPhone / iPad • Connected to a TETRA Infrastructure switch

  7. The DVI-100 Features • Connect TETRA networks of different manufacturer • Connect TETRA networks with different frequencies (450 MHz / 800 MHz) • In house coverage • Access to the own TETRA network from out of the coverage area (Paris – Cologne) • Temporary Micro-Spot (on site) • Dispatcher • Design your own application

  8. The PC GUI • Up to 10 “local” IP user displayed • Up to 10 TETRA groups displayed • Supervisor Mode (can change the active group) • All PTT, SDS and Status are displayed with Time Stamp and stored in a csv-database • PTT Push To Talk button • Signaling according to TETRA terminals • SDS send feature
