  1. FCE Speaking Test – Part 3 • Listen carefully to the questions (although they are printed next to the pictures) • Answer the first question with each picture in turn before you discuss the second question • To start the conversation you can give a brief opinion about the first picture or make a suggestion and ask your partner what he/she thinks • When your partner says something REACT! Make it like a natural conversation. Try not to dominate the conversation

  2. Continued……. • Manage your time. Spend one and a half to two minutes on the first question and one to one and a half on the second • Keep the discussion moving by saying things like ‘What about this photo? What do you think?’ Or ‘Shall we move on to the second question?’ • Don’t spend too long talking about one photo • Try to reach a decision on the second question but don’t worry too much if you can’t agree • If you reach a decision too quickly, give your reasons

Useful language Involving your partner Keep the discussion moving • What do you think? • Do you agree (with me)? • What about this picture? • I think……… What about you? • What about this picture? What do you think? • Let’s move on to the next picture/ second question • Shall we move on to……….?
