History of DFID in BiH Versatile programme in BiH since early 1990s, total budget of over 80 million GBP (excluding multilateral contributions): • Emergency aid; • Reconstruction of main infrastructure (power networks); • Technical assistance (since 1999). Since 2008 the DFID programme in BiH concentrated on: • Ensuring that programmes developed focused on areas where DFID has a comparative advantage (public administration, public finance, statistics and national planning) and provide longer term sustainability for the UK in BiH; • Accelerate our efforts towards a more coherent joint UK agenda for BiH; • Communicating the change in development relationship between the UK and BiH to government partners; • Learning lessons for future use by DFID elsewhere and partners in BiH.
