Credit Network Issuer Processor Acquirer Association Issuer Merchant (Transit Agency) Merchant in effect “sells” the transaction to the acquirer and is reimbursed the amount of the sale less a “Discount fee”. The acquirer then submits the transaction to the issuing bank for payment via the interchange and settlement system. Issuing bank pays the merchant acquirer, less an interchange fee which partially reimburses the issuer for its expense. Card holder pays issuer. T-FLEx Workshop Slide: 9

Transaction and Revenue Flow Customer selects ticket type then payment type If Credit/debit, TVM connects to gateway or processor for authorization Transaction authorization sent to TVM Card is issued, transaction completed Within 48 hours total value of transaction deposited into agency bank account Once each month fees for all transactions are removed from agency bank account by acquirers bank. Issuer Bank Terminal Agency Server Association Processor- Acquirer Agency responsible for purchase of equipment and software, operations, and maintenance of server.   10. Transaction Flow Transactions flow through Gateway to Processor Issuer Bank Terminal Gateway Processor- Acquirer Association Gateway acts as server. Gateway is responsible for purchase of equipment and software, operations, and maintenance of server. Minimal PCI certification requirements.
