  1. An Ecosystem Is a community and its physical environment. An ecosystem may have just a few living things or thousands of living things. You will find plants, insects and animals in an ecosystem in which they interact with.

  2. What is an Ecosystem? • Is the environment that living and nonliving things that affect each other, or interact with each other.

  3. Types of Aquatic Ecosystem • Streams/charcos • Ponds/estanques • Lakes/lagos • Islands/islas • Peninsulas/penínsulas • River/rios • Oasys/Oasis

  4. Pond/Estanque • B7- See the Diagram • A pond is a body of standing water, either natural or man-made, that is usually smaller than a lake. A wide variety of man-made bodies of water are classified as ponds, including water gardens, fish ponds. • Animalsfound in ponds: frogs, insects and turtles/grasshoppers, ducks, mosquitos, ladybugs,dragonflies/goose

  5. A River • A River: A large body of water that flows across the land. • Animals that could be found in the river: alligators, fish, tapoles, frogs, • Toads, snakes, beavers, cocodriles, goose,

  6. A lake • A body of water with land all around it. • Animals found in lakes: • Crocodriles, snakes, fish, ducks, • Birds, allegators, turtles, water snakes, • Plants found in lakes

  7. Oceans/Oceanos B28-B29 • It’s water is salty. • An ocean is a great mass of salt water that covers almost three quarters of the Earth’s surface

  8. Ocean animals and plants • Sharks,/seahorse/clams • Whales,/jellyfish/oysters • Dolphins/starfish/goldfish • Octopus/rainbow fish/flying fish • Eells/crabs,angelfish/clownfish • Plants: Seedweed

  9. Something New I learned about the Ocean Ecosystem • We must keep the water clean and healthy. • There are lots of plants for the animals to feed on. • The ocean is the biggest ecosystem in the world. • The water temperature in the ocean changes from place to place. • We must not contanaminate the waters because this will cause animals to die. • The ocean can be divided into zones. • There coral reefs where lots of fish hide and play. • The health of the animals of the sea depends on us.

  10. Facts That I learned about the Ocean Ecosystem • Fish like the sting ray live in the ocean. • Animals like the octopus are very invertebrate and are very smart. • Sharks are very important in the part of our food chain because they are on the top of the food chain. • There are thousands of different species inside the ocean. • There are lots of plants: like plankton, seaweed and that serve as food. • Corals reefs are very colorful and they serve for protection and hiding.
