  1. Commonly Accepted Errors • Children are born sinners.

  2. Are Children Born In Sin? “Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to Him and said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.’” (Luke 18:15-16) “The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.” (Ezekiel 18:20)

  3. Commonly Accepted Errors • Children are born sinners. • Predestination – We have no choice.

  4. Do We Have A Choice? “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” (Rev. 22:17) “Then Peter opened his mouth and said: ‘In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.’” (Acts 10:34-35)

  5. Commonly Accepted Errors • Children are born sinners. • Predestination – We have no choice. • Direct Operation of Holy Spirit

  6. Holy Spirit Works Through Word “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” (John 16:13) “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Eph.6:17) “How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets.” (Eph. 3:3-5)

  7. Holy Spirit Works Through Word “to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thess. 2:14) “Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Men and brethren, what shall we do?’” (Acts 2:37; see v. 4) “However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.” (Acts 4:4)

  8. Commonly Accepted Errors • Children are born sinners. • Predestination – We have no choice. • Direct Operation of Holy Spirit. • Once saved always saved.

  9. Once Saved Always Saved?? “You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.” (Gal. 5:4) “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” (John 15:6) “Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.” (James 5:19-20)

  10. Once Saved Always Saved?? “For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: ‘A dog returns to his own vomit,’ and, ‘a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.’” (2 Peter 2:20-22)
