An overview: why ? • Teens are considered the fastest growing advertising market in the United States (PBS Frontline, 2001) • WebQuests develop information-seeking skills in vital ways (Dodge, 1998) • Major foci of library media instruction today: • Information literacy standards (Information Power, 1998) • State instructional standards (English Language Arts; Math, Science and Technology; Social Studies) • Collaboration between teachers and library media specialists

  3. Technical aspect of project • Design a learning pipeline • Placed links at bottom of site Homepage • Student and Teacher areas are separated • Color coded pages • Quick way to ensure students are completing their given assignment • Teachers able to maintain control of student progress

  4. Pre-instruction surveys (interests, reactions) WebQuest instruction in the computer lab Three groups follow course, answer questions Classroom discussion session Poster creation based on group consensus Individual opinions formed based on WebQuest results Execution of the project
