  2. Gossip You each have some information about a type of fuel, its advantages and disadvantages. You now have to ‘gossip’ on your table telling each other about your fuel BUT you cant show each other your information. At the end your table must be completed with all of the notes.

  3. How could you use this type of explanation to explain the advantages and disadvantages of your type of energy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhEGS1zsApo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCg81A6kwg0 http://www.theguardian.com/environment/damian-carrington-blog/2013/nov/08/pandoras-promise-pro-nuclear-movie-climate-change

  4. 5 minute task Choose one type of renewable and one type of non-renewable fuel. Explain their advantages. (4 marks)

  5. How does this link with Climate change?

  6. GIVE ME 5- things you have learnt this lesson (facts, data, key terms…)

  7. What is the distribution and balance of energy use? Fuel exports Starter: Where in the world exports the most fuel? Where in the world imports the most fuel? Which countries do you think are in a fuel a) deficit b) surplus? Describe the distribution of fuel importers in the world. (4) USA energy deficit because it consumes so much- if all consumed like the USA would need 34 worlds! Fuel imports

  8. 2. What is the distribution and balance of energy use? Surplus, Balance, Deficit Complete the table: - is the country an LIC or HIC? - Is it in energy surplus or deficit? - Suggest reasons why these countries are in surplus or deficit.

  9. Fuel use USA energy deficit because it consumes so much- if all consumed like the USA would need 34 worlds!

  10. Jan 2013- create a number of questions using this figure that adds up to 6 marks

  11. 2013 SAM

  12. How does deficit and surplus link in with carbon footprint and wasting energy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE_4VLWUBu8 Draw a quick bingo table and write in 9 words. Domestic Secondary Primary Emissions Qatar Kuwait US 4metric Heating Transportation Electricity CO2 Flight Indirect Product Manufacture

  13. How do we waste energy? How can we save energy? • Write down ways that: • A) domestic (households) waste energy • B)Settlements waste energy

  14. How does Barnet recycle its waste? http://ccfgcsegeography.posterous.com/ • From your own knowledge and remembering from you creating your website. Write a list.

  15. Explain 2 ways of reducing energy wastage on a local scale in the UK? (4 marks) You can use the Woking Case study on page 139 – write the perfect answer for this question. OR BARNET MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE KEY FACTS AND GEOGRAPHICAL TERMS

  16. Page 137 • Write notes on solutions to energy wastage on a • 1) a national scale • 2) a local and domestic scale

  17. National scale energy solutions • Grant for £2500 per household for green technologies • No planning permission for wind turbines, solar panels, ground and water source heat pumps and biomass systems. • £1 million grant for public buildings • Local and domestic scale solutions • Community energy schemes – communal boiler • Combined Heat Power is 90% efficient compared to 20% for national systems- 1300 sites have them. • Money off council tax if you have insulation

  19. Choose a HIC you have studied. Explain how it disposes of different types of waste. (6 marks) You are the examiner- what do you expect to be included to get 6 marks? Which case study are you going to choose? Germany/Barnet/Camden?
